Here’s a little secret, I LOVE creating by the water. With water, we nurture, pray, cleanse, and soothe. Those are just merely a few of the things water represent. Water is life. I have always found our relationship with water so mesmerizing, especially for Women. So every season shooting a boudoir session near the water is, somewhat, soul healing.
We don’t have much rivers and streams here in South Florida, so that means we always head to the beach. Having to scout different beaches and nooks is exciting for me. Finding that perfect spot at the beach is so essential because believe it or not, it all coincides with the mood and the story I want to capture for my client. With Anjelica, I knew that shooting at sunrise is what her spirit needed for her seaside boudoir in South Beach.
I asked Anjelica a few questions after receiving her photos and here’s what she had to say about her seaside boudoir experience:
What made you decide to do a boudoir session?
I was going through a major life change. I wanted to have pictures of myself during this time to remind myself of self-love and to challenge myself to stay out of my comfort zone.
Did you have any fears before your session? Did I help address those fears?
Yes, I was concerned about how I would perceive my body. All of those fears disappeared once I worked with Denice. She made me feel empowered and equally beautiful.
How did you feel when you received your photos?
I shed a couple of happy tears. I felt like the photographs captured my true essence and that was pretty awesome to see.
If you were talking to your best friend and wanted to tell her how you felt about your experience what would you say?
You have to do it! We are our own worst critics and to be in front of the camera is such an impactful moment. It challenges you out of your comfort zone and makes you see yourself in a different light.
