Why Empowering Women Through Boudoir Photography Is Important, South Florida Boudoir Photographer, Denice Lachapelle
In case you haven’t noticed, I BREATHE and LIVE for Boudoir. More than anything, I love the value of what Boudoir represents. Some may think that Boudoir Sessions are just provocative images. As an artist, I am here to tell you that this is not true for me. Boudoir sessions are honest. They are so bare that you have no option but to fall into a place of vulnerability.
You see, there is strength in vulnerability. Women are full of inspiration and empowerment. Earlier this week I read a quote by Cecil Beaton,
“Be daring, be different, be impractical. Be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the pay-it safers, the creatures of the commonplace,the slaves of the ordinary.”
When I first shot my first Boudoir session, I felt a sense of closeness to a purpose. To tell the story of the woman in front of my lens through captivating and timeless boudoir. I passionately want my boudoir sessions to feel sacred, where a woman isn’t afraid to be who she is, express herself and celebrate her sexuality in her own terms. I want to be the one to help women see that they are worthy, highlight their inner and outer beauty, and help them celebrate it!
Cecil Beaton’s words served as a beautiful reminder that I must stay in the fight of empowerment, for me and for the women I photograph.
